Latest update: Monday 3 May 2021 12:26

Travelling with the public transport chip card is easy. Still, mistakes happen, and maybe you accidentally pay too much. Or maybe the wrong price was charged from your card. In these cases, you can reclaim your money. This section explains how.

You did not check out

If you did not check out – say, because the gate was broken or you simply forgot – you paid too much for your trip. On the website uitcheckgemist.nl you can simply reclaim your money. And to make it even easier, you can navigate to uitcheckgemist.nl from every travel advice page on 9292.nl as well as from the app for iPhone and Android.

A missed check out is invisible

Between January and June, as well as between July and December, you can reclaim money for up to 3 trips per public transport company. In your travel history you can see all your trips without check-outs of the last 180 days. It may happen that the transporter has not yet delivered the information to us. As a result, it may take some time before a missed check-out appears in your travel history. Your trips normally appear within 14 days, but it may take up to 62 days.

Business Card or another chip card for business use

If you are travelling with an NS Business Card or another chip card for business use, please refer to the customer service mentioned on your card. Currently we are working on a test with Mobility Mixx in the area of HTM. In this case, customers of Mobility Mixx can use uitcheckgemist.nl.

Wrong price or failed payment

It may also happen that a wrong price is charged, or that your payment at a machine fails. In these cases, it is also possible to reclaim your money.
